Private Tuition / Reeling Lessons

If you would like to organise some extra reeling tuition (eg to master the dances more quickly or to prepare for a forthcoming Ball etc), then our Chairman/Caller John Carver is always happy to help. All you need do is to organise a group of at least 8 reelers for a teaching session, and you then have 2 options to consider:

1) John can either come to you (in London or wherever) to run a 3 hour teaching session at home - a living room big enough for an Eightsome is all the space required for a small group of 8-10 people. Or…

2) For those willing to make the trip, you are welcome to join John at Dinton Castle in Buckinghamshire, on a weekday evening of your choice, for the chance to learn the reels in a traditional setting - although space here is limited to 8-10 reelers max, please note! Trains run regularly from Marylebone to Haddenham & Thame (35 mins) and the Castle is a 5 min taxi ride from there.

John regularly teaches 300+ reelers at Pont Street so don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions. There are less than 10 mainstream reels that ever need to be learnt for the Balls, and a single teaching session will enable all of these to be covered. And don’t forget the teaching videos at www.londonreels.co.uk/videos which are sure to help as well.

How much does a 3 hour teaching session cost?
It depends on the number of people but for a group of 8 people it would be £30pp
